BOGO Deal Limits

DenisePDeniseP
edited July 2016 in Publix Deals
I like in FL near Tampa. I've always known the deal limits for BOGOs to be 8 deals. That means 16 items. Today a new store manager told me the limit was 8 deals, meaning 8 items. I've never had a problem in any store before. Items don't ring up as half price here so how can a full price item be a deal? If you are buying 1 at full price and getting 1 for free how can that be 2 deals?

I am trying to find the policy written down and haven't had any luck. Anyone know where it is?

Thanks for your help!

My store limits sale and BOGO's to 8 items, period. You can buy more non-sale items, but you are still limited to 8 coupons for the same product.

Example: if you have a coupon for $1/2 candy bars, you can buy 16 of them (if regular price) and use 8 coupons. But if they are sale priced, or bogo, you can only buy 8 and use 4 of those same coupons.

I could be wrong, but I believe most stores are the same.

If you go to Publix.com then scroll down to the bottom of the page, under About, FAQs, Savings...look under Love to Save Here and you will see this:

"For a buy-one-get-one-free (BOGO) offer, each item is considered a separate purchase."

    Hope that helps!

  • In S. FL if there is a bogo sale, then the limit is always 4 deals (=8 items). This is what we get on the raincheck.
    New to ibotta?
  • All Publix stores are allowed to set quantity limits on any item, whether on sale or not.

If a BOGO sale is red hot, stores can limit to two items per day (one BOGO deal).

My stores impose a quantity limit of eight for products on sale, which is four BOGO deals, THat is how they write rain checks. If a product is BOGO and I want a rain check for the max, the rain check will be for four BOGO deals (eight total items).

Yes, that is the way here.

ISO: / coupons from Baby Club home mailer. Enfagrow coupons/checks.
  • I usually don't have a problem getting 8 BOGO (16 items). The only limit is in the number of coupons...no more than eight like coupons (unless stated different on the coupon). But like @maureenl said, it is up to the store manager.

I have always been held to 4 BOGO= 8 items, but a limit of 10 items for sale/ non-bogo items.

  • thanks. so, if 4 deals is 8items then 8 deals is 16 items. Therefore, our store limit of 8 deals means I can purchase 16 items as I thought. I think the issue is in the terminology. What do they consider a deal as opposed to a purchase or an item.
