Have you tried Cooked Perfect meatballs? What is your review?

They are on sale for $5 each, and there is a matching $1/1 MQ and $1/1 PQ. If you can use the Target $5/$25 frozen food Q, you could get five bags for $10. The bags are 26 ounces, so 8 pounds of meatballs for $10. If they're good, I would consider stocking up.

Thanks for saying what I was thinking!

I might buy one bag tomorrow. I read a review by someone who likes them if they are put in a crockpot with sauce and simmered on low for a few hours to let the meatballs get happy. I haven't read the ingredients, but at that price, I bet they contain some textured soy.

I like the Mama Mancini's beef meatballs, but I will only buy if they're BOGO and I have a coupon.

Lol. I am on the fence about purchasing these. I would love to hear from someone who have tried these.
  • Well, a bag of significantly-discounted Cooked Perfect Angus Beef meatballs are in the crockpot with two jars of MM Classico sauce. I will serve them tonight with some MM Mueller's pot-sized pasta and a side of cheap Fresh Express mixed greens.

It tastes awesome cause it was free...yippee Maureen!
  • They are certainly not as good as homemade meatballs, and they aren't as good as Mama Mancini meatballs. I wouldn't give them to company, but I am definitely glad I got a few bags for the freezer.

I bought the Angus Beef variety after reading reviews and checking the ingredient list on the bag. There is some soy flour in them, but that was way down at the bottom of the list after spices, so very minimal. The Italian-style variety had beef, pork, and soy as the first three ingredients, so I stuck with the Angus Beef.

Everyone liked them. They did not have a weird taste and were not garlicky, which was a fear of mine. The texture was the giveaway that they aren't homemade, and it's hard to describe what was "off." If I press on one of my own cooked meatballs with the back of a fork, it will break apart easily into a lot of small pieces, and these don't do that.

My guess is because these have more breadcrumbs than what I put in mine and also (without being too indelicate) because I think "beef" doesn't mean only the kind of ground beef I buy to make meatballs. Kind of like a hot dog in the sense that you probably don't want to see exactly what parts are going into the mix. But I can set that aside when I eat hot dogs (here I come, Hofmann's BOGO!), so I can deal with Cooked Perfect Angus Beef meatballs.

  • Thanks! @Maureen next time I will pick up a bag. I chickened out this time my imagination got the best of me. Lol
  • I bought the same kind of Cooked Perfect meatballs to try. Glad to know they they taste ok. I think that they must add something to the mix to make them stick together as well as they do and not fall apart like my homemade ones will.
